THE BISHOP OF THE DIOCESE OF BOUGAINVILLE PASSES AWAY.

It is with great sorrow that we share with you, the passing of the Bishop of Bougainville, His Lordship Bernard Unabali. Born on the 5th of May 1957, he was ordained a Priest of the Diocese of Bougainville on December 14, 1985. On June 01, 2006, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Bougainville.
On the 15th of December, 2009, he was appointed as Bishop of Bougainville. He passed away on August 10, 2019, at 1:49PM [PNG time], in the Philippines after seeking medical treatment for Diabetes. We pray for the repose of his soul, and also for his immediate family, the Priests and the people of Bougainville. May God give them comfort in this time of grief and sorrow.
