A BLACK DAY
By Anton Lutz
Two women were accused overnight of eating a little girl's heart and
then putting it back in. They have been tortured. Five officers
accompanied me to try to speak with them. The two women were seated
across the circle from us. But before we could speak, we were threatened
and chased away. Later in the afternoon, the police tried to attend the
case a second time, and were again threatened and chased away. We were
told "This isn't your problem. Leave!"

Pray for those who are living in ignorance and fear.
Thank God for the brave officers who faced the bushknives and axes
raised against them. And speak to the leaders of Enga. Why aren't we
using all our ideas and resources to educate these poor communities and
protect the women and children living there?
Update as of 7 pm. The women remain with those who tortured them.
