By Gregory Avira

Kiriwina-Goodenough MP Douglas Tomuriesa is set to appear for his next mention at the Waigani Committal Court at the end of the month.

The former Forestry Minister was arraigned during his first appearance in July with the matter adjourned to August 29th to allow police to complete the case file and have it served on the accused.

Mr Tomuriesa is facing one count of misappropriating 6- Million Kina, one count of False Pretense and one count of Money Laundering.

With 22 days to go before the next mention, FM100 News has confirmed with Police Prosecution this afternoon that they are yet to receive a hand-up-brief from police investigators.

Once received then the file is expected to be served on Mr Tomuriesa ahead of the August 29th hearing.

Meantime, the wife of the MP, who has also been implicated in the alleged offenses will have her committal matter heard on the 30th of August.

This will also be her second appearance following her arraignment on July 19.

Both matters are being heard separately.
